Mumbai Darshan with a difference :

This Sunday (February 21 2010) Umang Foundation and it’s team would be organizing a Mumbai Darshan trip for 150 cancer suffering children from Tata memorial hospital. Three buses are arranged to accommodate the children and Umang volunteers for the trip.

Journey would begin from Tata memorial hospital at 11:30am. Major points would be covered in this trip. We are expecting children to be happy as they are getting a chance to visit most known tourist destinations of Mumbai.

Destinations planned out for the day includes:

1) Nehru Science Centre

2) Taraporawala Aquarium

3) Gateway Of India

4) Nariman Point

5) Queen’s Necklace

Some snacks would be served to the kids during the bus journey from Aquarium to Gateway of India. Kids and the Umang team are expected to spend around 1 hour at Gateway of India. Next snack break would be during their journey towards Marine Drive.

This being the first mobile event of Umang Foundation, all volunteers are well informed and trained to handle this enent. Managing 150 children, provide utmost security and care would be a challenge for Team Umang. More than 50 volunteers are expected to join this special event.

Special beforehand precautions would be taken regarding the health and well-being of each and every child in the bus. Volunteers present in the bus would be giving personal attention to each kid, to avoid any last-minute chaos. To keep a track of the kids, badges/identification ribbons would be provided for the kids, which would make the management of kids a bit simpler. Umang volunteers would also be having a ribbon tied in their arms for identification at public places.

Hope this event becomes a huge success and this can only be achieved by your support and co-operation. So, do join us in bringing a smile on these kid’s faces.
